Set in a future, eerily plausible dystopian Britain. The simple almost stark story-telling style makes the harsh realities of life for the young characters all the more real.
Serving out their 2 year defense security stint on The Wall, they are trapped in a downward spiral through no fault of their own.
Time and again, they cling to their friendships and their dignity and revise their expectations of life downwards.
It is gripping, different and slightly unsettling. I found it well worth reading.
